I am a wife of 26 years to my best friend of 28 years, a disgustingly doting mom, a writer, an accountant by training, an obsessive reader, a bit of a slacker in my private life, a lifelong optimistic depressive and a squealing fangirl for certain science fiction shows. I have three kids - a handsome singer/actor about that goes to KU, a quirky mini-fangirl that wants to be the first woman on Mars, and an 9-year-old boy that loves drawing, math, Japanese monsters and Pokemon.
I have a lot on my mind. Some of it is weighty - midlife job insecurity and debt, parenthood, losing my Daddy and Mom to diabetes complications and Alzheimer's, respectively, and well, my weight. Much of it is not - Star Trek (especially Voyager and Enterprise, so sue me), Stargate Atlantis, Heroes, Quantum Leap, NCIS and Merlin, Heinlein novels, movies, weird stories about my husband and kids, rants about married life and work life and my latest attempts at fan fiction writing. So, I'm not sure where I'm going here, but I hope you might like to tag along.
I'm leaving the above intact - what a time capsule! Now married almost 42 years and my kids are all grown. The singer/actor is married (for the second time) and living in the mountains, working remotely as an IT service specialist. The mini-fangirl is now a grown fangirl with an intended, who manages a copy shop and my youngest is working toward a certificate in Data Analysis (still games and loves manga). Fandom interest has taken a BIG turn in the last year - much more about Spirk than I ever was before - I blame Ethan Peck and Paul Wesley. I am nigh on obsessive about reco rding and posting podfic - my main "thing" right now.
